Thor Bjornsson Appears to Ignore Eddie Hall’s Dominant MMA Debut

MMA News

Thor Bjornsson appeared to ignore his long-standing strongman rival, Eddie Hall, following Hall`s fight on Saturday night.

In his mixed martial arts debut at KSW 105, Eddie Hall achieved a quick victory, defeating a former five-time World`s Strongest Man within 30 seconds.

Hall, nicknamed `The Beast,` had previously challenged Mariusz Pudzianowski following an unusual 2-on-1 fight he won in June last year.

Eddie Hall first ventured into combat sports in 2022 with a boxing match against Thor Bjornsson. The Game of Thrones actor won the bout by decision, although Hall did manage to knock him down.

Bjornsson`s Silence on Hall`s MMA Win

Before the fight, Thor had publicly supported Pudzianowski, predicting a win for the veteran, but also mentioning that Hall could potentially land a lucky upset.

According to Thor`s comments to KSW, he believed, “Mariusz should win due to experience but he is getting older.”

“Eddie might catch him with a lucky punch,” he added. “We will see.”

Hall connected with several powerful punches on Pudzianowski. Following his third consecutive knockout loss, the Polish fighter later claimed on social media that some of these strikes were illegal, hitting the back of his head.

Shortly after the KSW event, Thor took to his Instagram story to praise a different combat sports match he had watched.

He described the bout between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn as a “Fight of the Year candidate. No question.”

As of now, Thor has made no public comments regarding Hall or his notable first performance in mixed martial arts.

Will Bjornsson vs. Hall II Happen in MMA?

A significant issue stemming from their original boxing match was the non-payment for the event. The fight garnered massive viewership, reportedly enough to crash the broadcaster, and both athletes were due a seven-figure sum.

Hall claims they were never compensated for the fight, suggesting Bjornsson played a role in this. Speaking exclusively prior to his bout with Pudzianowski, the 37-year-old shared:

I think it’s done, we had our discrepancies, he had a sore loser moment where he couldn’t take a loss and we had a fight about it. Unfortunately, the wrong man won in that circumstance but I got to punch the man in the face, which for me was a delight. He’s gone back to strongman because he’s got nothing going for him so let him crack on.

Hall stated:

I don’t think he’ll ever come back to do the rematch so let him crack on. I’m done with that f—ing d—head… I think doing business or doing sport with a man that you hate that much is a bad idea and I just feel there were such bad omens. We didn’t get paid for that fight! It was meant to be $1million each and it all just fell through. I think a lot of that was people just being f—-ies and wanting guaranteed money and not relying on pay-per-views and I think he was a big brunt of that problem.

He concluded:

Just doing business with that man? I don’t want to do it. There was just too much hatred there and there still is and it’s not a good idea to do business, which is what the fight game is, with someone you hate that much.
