British tennis sensation Sonay Kartal, known for her extensive collection of tattoos, is planning to get another one to commemorate her success at Wimbledon – and she’s inviting her fans to contribute design ideas.
The 23-year-old British breakthrough player is currently enjoying her most successful run at a Grand Slam tournament, having reached the last 16 for the very first time.
It`s not only her impressive skills on the court that have garnered attention; her 14 distinctive tattoos, featuring designs like a snake, star, and a butterfly, have also made her a favourite among supporters.
Kartal, who resides in Brighton, intends to get her 15th tattoo after the championship concludes and stated she is open to suggestions from the public.
She commented, “If people are keen to send me their concepts, I`ll likely choose one of them and get it done somewhere.”
However, the world No. 51 ruled out getting a strawberry design, calling the idea “too predictable.”
Sonay, whose father runs a kebab shop, was scheduled to face Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova today for a place in the quarter-finals.
She is the last remaining British player in the women`s singles draw after her childhood friend Emma Raducanu was defeated on Friday night.
Raducanu lost to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets on Centre Court.
