Merriman, owner of Lights Out Sports TV, is collaborating with Signature Punch Promotions and ICS (Influencer Crossover Series) to promote a highly anticipated boxing match between Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Rashad Evans on April 12 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
Despite his success in promoting events, Merriman hasn`t abandoned his personal fighting aspirations. A potential clash with James Harrison is becoming increasingly likely.
In a recent interview, Merriman explained his approach to fight promotion and his own fighting ambitions. He mentioned that while he usually stays behind the scenes, he is willing to step into the ring himself, especially when challenged by someone like James Harrison or Chad Johnson.
“If James Harrison and Ochocinco (Chad Johnson) are serious about fighting publicly, then I`m ready,” Merriman stated. “I believe a match between us would be fantastic, and fans would love to see two tough guys go head-to-head for a few rounds. I`m putting it out there. I usually don`t publicly call people out, but I have sent contracts to various individuals, including former WWE and football players, even a rugby player – but haven`t received any responses.”
Merriman clarified why he typically avoids public call-outs, mentioning his continued training alongside many of these athletes. He regularly trains at Xtreme Couture and Top Rank in Las Vegas to stay in shape and assist fighters preparing for their bouts.
“The offer stands. If James Harrison is interested, I believe it would be a massive event,” Merriman concluded.
