Emma Raducanu ended her coaching partnership with Vladimir Platenik via a phone call the night before her Miami Open match.

Platenik, 49, is disappointed the partnership concluded so quickly, as he believed it would last until the French Open. He stated, “Look at the improvements I made to her game.”
Platenik and Raducanu parted ways after just two weeks, following her first-round defeat at the Indian Wells Open.
He was not present in her box when she won her first match in Florida, having been informed of a “pause” in their agreement despite recent training sessions.
Platenik mentioned to the Telegraph, “Emma said she wanted to pause the collaboration.”
“I understand she is under significant pressure, and it`s not easy for her, so I respect her decision.”
“I wish I had more time with her. But that’s sport, Emma is super talented, and I hope she could use some of my advice in the future.”
“I wish her all the best.”
Platenik was satisfied with his work on her serve, which had been problematic due to a back issue in the off-season.
He added, “I have never had a player who improved as rapidly as Emma.”
“We had a challenging but productive eight or nine days of practice. We trained somewhat differently from her usual approach, significantly improving her footwork positioning.”
“We also enhanced her serve with a higher toss and focused on the second serve, where she also had an inconsistent toss.”
“Now she can utilize the kick-serve more effectively and be more aggressive, even on her second serve.”
“I am pleased with her progress and her performance in the first round.”
“If she can maintain and build upon these improvements, she has the potential to return to the world`s top 20, though I am always cautious about setting definitive limits.”
