Pudzianowski’s Stunning 18-Second KO of ‘Bombardier’

MMA News

Mariusz Pudzianowski has secured some massive finishes in his MMA career, but his victory against ‘Bombardier’ in 2021 stands out as potentially the most significant.

The five-time World’s Strongest Man champion is scheduled to face Eddie Hall this Saturday evening at KSW 105 in Gliwice, Poland. Hall will have a notable size advantage, expected to weigh in over 340lb even after cutting weight.

However, the last time Pudzianowski faced a much larger opponent, it ended poorly for the Senegalese fighter Seigne Ousmane Dia, known as ‘Bombardier’. Despite holding a 2-0 MMA record with first-round wins, he was quickly defeated by ‘Pudzian’.

Mariusz Pudzianowski`s Rapid Knockout Against 326lb ‘Bombardier’

Leading up to their bout at KSW 64, there was a heated exchange of words and a rivalry between ‘Bombardier’ and Pudzianowski. This tension fueled an intense start to their fight.

When Pudzianowski and Ousmane weighed in, the size difference was a considerable 67lb. Yet, this weight disparity proved irrelevant based on the fight`s outcome.

The Senegalese fighter came out aggressively, swinging powerful haymakers. However, Pudzianowski, with his greater experience, effectively used leg kicks and combinations from a solid range.

Ultimately, Pudzianowski landed a clean right hand directly to the chin, rendering his opponent unconscious and prompting the referee to intervene.

For the first time since the memorable event at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Pudzianowski will again confront an opponent substantially heavier than himself. The combined weight of ‘Pudzian’ and Hall is anticipated to exceed 600lb, potentially with as much as an 80lb weight difference between them.

The weigh-in is set for Friday, following an awkward initial encounter at their press conference last month. The fight itself will consist of two four-minute rounds, contested under slightly modified rules due to Hall`s limited MMA background.

Hall has one previous cage appearance, a peculiar 2v1 `Freak Fight` where he knocked out two lighter opponents simultaneously. He also competed in a boxing match against fellow former World’s Strongest Man Hafþór Björnsson, losing by decision.
