Paris Saint-Germain Embrace Jordan Branding with Jumpman Logo in Champions League

Football News

The iconic Jumpman logo of Michael Jordan`s brand will be prominent as Paris Saint-Germain competes. While PSG will be in their standard Nike home kit for the Champions League final, their significant partnership with the Jordan brand has sent jerseys worldwide and become a growing streetwear phenomenon, complementing the club`s expanding soccer influence.

PSG and Jordan Brand have been partners since 2018, introducing a unique street culture perspective to the world of soccer. Beyond the crucial sporting competition, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi emphasized the commercial aspect of the club, vital for increasing revenue and attracting global superstars. At the partnership`s inception, PSG sought to boost its global visibility, extending the collaboration beyond just jerseys to encompass over 90 different items – a novel approach for soccer clubs that is now becoming increasingly common.

“A shared conviction: that talent transcends disciplines. The first PSG x Jordan kit, a collaboration that was so surprising for both worlds at the time, according to the media…And it changed the game: sport and fashion were no longer observing each other from afar, they were actually meeting,” stated PSG Chief Brand Officer Fabien Allegre. “6 years later, in January 2025 during Paris Fashion Week, we wrote a new page in our collaboration by launching Jordan Wings x PSG: an exclusive collection made in Italy and France, designed to appeal to both fashion and sports fans. The drop took place in our pop-up in Paris and the response was overwhelming. It`s no longer just a collab, it`s a real cultural alliance. We`re moving forward together, never settling for anything less.”

Cultivating a unique identity is key, and alongside Jordan Brand, PSG has successfully developed one that resonates, even appearing on shirts without the traditional central stripe representing the French flag. Naturally, being a fashion-forward club must be balanced with success on the pitch, a balance PSG has managed under Al-Khelaifi`s leadership.

“Back in 2011, our President shared a clear vision: to make Paris Saint-Germain a global brand both on and off the pitch, and for me the objective was to be both a successful football club and a cultural brand in its own right. This ambition quickly took shape with unique collaborations that had never been done before by a football club, a showcase in the iconic Paris shop Colette, and our first appearance at Paris Fashion Week, in collaboration with Koché and Bape,” Allegre explained. “Then, 7 years ago, our collaboration with Jordan Brand. Once again, it wasn`t just a question of style, but of expanding our universe, connecting the new generation of fans from different universes and creating those essential links to be recognized as an innovative brand.”

This vision has manifested both on and off the pitch, as Al-Khelaifi transformed PSG from a modest side in French soccer into a dominant Ligue 1 force, reaching their second opportunity to win the club`s first Champions League title. Rising to third in the Football Money League, PSG is among a small group of top-10 clubs yet to claim the UCL trophy. To consolidate their status, securing this title is seen as crucial for propelling PSG to the next echelon. They had the chance to achieve this on Saturday in Munich.
