Liverpool Football Club has officially announced that Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract, securing his presence at Anfield beyond the 2024-25 season. The agreement extends Salah`s stay with the Reds, following reports of a new deal emerging recently.
The club has finalized the contract, with Salah committing to at least two more years. In an interview with Liverpool`s official website, Salah expressed his excitement about the new deal.
“I am very happy and excited,” Salah stated. “We have a fantastic team, and I believe we have the opportunity to win more trophies together and enjoy success. I`ve had some incredible years here, my best years in football. I`m looking forward to continuing my journey with Liverpool and giving our best for the fans, who have been amazing. I believe we can achieve even more together.”
Mohamed Salah`s impressive record at Liverpool includes being third on the club`s all-time top scorers list with 243 goals in 394 games. He has also earned numerous individual accolades during his time at Anfield, including three Premier League Golden Boots, two PFA Players` Player of the Year awards, and two FWA Footballer of the Year awards.
During his Liverpool career, Salah has already won seven trophies, including the Premier League title in the 2019-20 season and the UEFA Champions League in 2019, along with other cup titles. Since joining from AS Roma in 2017 for approximately $40 million, Salah has become a key player for Liverpool. Virgil van Dijk, who joined in 2018 from Southampton for around $80 million, has also been instrumental in the team`s success.
