An MMA fighter with a striking resemblance to UFC star Paddy Pimblett has become an online sensation. Frederic Vosgröne, an undefeated light heavyweight from Germany, went viral after his recent victory in OKTAGON MMA.
Vosgröne, known for his expertise in jiu-jitsu and signature heel hook and arm-triangle submissions, demonstrated a persistent strategy to bring his opponent, Jorick Montagnac, to the ground in their Saturday match. It took him several determined attempts, but he eventually succeeded.
In the second round, Vosgröne secured victory by submitting Montagnac with an arm-triangle choke, marking his fourth consecutive submission win.
However, it wasn`t the submission itself that captured the attention of fans, but rather the unusual method he employed to achieve it.
Fans React: Is it Paddy Pimblett or Brock Lesnar`s Son?
Frederic Vosgröne`s impressive physique in the light heavyweight division was immediately apparent to viewers.
His long blonde hair and muscular build led to comparisons with both the popular UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett and former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
“If Paddy and Brock Lesnar had a child,” one fan humorously commented on Instagram, highlighting the fighter`s unique blend of appearances.
“Paddy Pimblett on steroids,” another fan remarked, pointing to Vosgröne`s formidable physique.
Vosgröne Emulates UFC Champion Dricus du Plessis` Takedown Style
The defining characteristic of Vosgröne`s fighting style can be summed up as `relentless`.
In the first round, the German fighter showcased this tenacity by repeatedly attempting takedowns, refusing to release his grip on his opponent`s leg. This approach was reminiscent of UFC Champion Dricus du Plessis`s strategy against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305, where he persistently pursued takedowns.
Montagnac struggled to escape, briefly going down to one knee and hobbling away. Despite the initial defense, Vosgröne`s persistence paid off as he continued to attack.
Even after his initial attempts were thwarted, Vosgröne remained undeterred, quickly seizing Montagnac`s ankle in another takedown attempt.
“Bro is like a caveman that breathes grappling,” one fan exclaimed on X, praising Vosgröne`s relentless pressure. “Relentless, He dont even care whats coming back at him.”
