Miami Grand Prix 2025 Sprint Weekend

F1 News

Formula 1 makes its initial visit to the United States in the 2025 season, heading to Miami for a Sprint weekend event.

Anticipation builds around key championship contenders like Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen. Norris will be looking to replicate his breakthrough Grand Prix victory achieved at this circuit the previous year. Teams including Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes (with drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli), and Ferrari (highlighting Charles Leclerc`s performance, potentially against Lewis Hamilton) are preparing for strong performances at the distinct Miami venue.

The Miami International Autodrome

Joining the F1 calendar in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix takes place on a purpose-built street circuit constructed around the Hard Rock Stadium, home to the NFL`s Miami Dolphins. The circuit combines a high-speed first sector with a long back straight that serves as a primary overtaking opportunity before the penultimate corner. Drivers also face the challenge of the tricky Turn 14/15 chicane, which requires significant braking and careful navigation to avoid awkward kerbs.

Weather Forecast

While past Miami GP sessions have remained dry, the forecast for the 2025 event suggests potential changes. Friday and Saturday are currently expected to be dry with temperatures in the high 20s Celsius. However, Sunday`s race day forecast indicates a possibility of thundery showers impacting the event, which is scheduled to start at 4 pm local time (9 pm UK time).
