Poprad, Slovakia – The Slovak Volleyball Federation (SVF) held its 21st Elective Conference on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the AquaCity Hotel in Poprad. The conference saw significant participation, with 60 registered delegates, representing a robust 97% attendance rate, gather to decide the future leadership and direction of Slovak volleyball.
A key outcome of the conference was the re-election of Marek Rojko as President of the SVF. Rojko, who has led the federation since 2021, received a decisive mandate, securing 58 out of 59 cast votes. This strong endorsement confirms his position for a second consecutive four-year term, set to run from 2025 to 2029.
The conference agenda was comprehensive, addressing not only leadership elections but also necessary updates to the federation`s governance framework. Delegates approved several amendments to foundational documents, including revisions to the SVF Statutes, the Electoral Code, and the Competition Rules, aiming to streamline operations and align regulations with current standards.
Beyond the presidency, delegates elected representatives for numerous other vital roles within the federation. Votes were cast for members of the Executive Board, the Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board, and the Chairs and Vice-Chairs across all three SVF judicial bodies: the Disciplinary Commission, the Arbitration Commission, and the Appeals Commission. Furthermore, the Chair and members of the SVF Electoral Commission were also selected, ensuring the integrity of future electoral processes.
Following his re-election, Mr. Rojko reflected on the federation`s journey and the path ahead. He acknowledged the significant internal challenges and conflicts faced in 2021, highlighting the subsequent progress as a core value recognized by the electorate. He expressed confidence in the newly elected Executive Board`s ability to navigate future demanding periods, stating his belief that Slovak Volleyball`s earned credibility and results position it among the leading sports organizations nationally.
In 2021, we faced serious challenges and internal conflicts. The fact that Slovak Volleyball has significantly advanced since then is the second core value I recognise in this re-election. There are many challenges ahead, but I believe that together with the new Executive Board, we can navigate through the demanding times to come. Volleyball in Slovakia has earned credibility and results, and I’m convinced it will remain among the leading sports organisations in the country.
Marek Rojko, President of the Slovak Volleyball Federation
Rojko also commended the high standard of the conference itself, attributing its success to the quality of individuals involved in Slovak volleyball, suggesting it could serve as a model for other sports organizations. He extended gratitude to the clubs, stakeholders, his family, and the SVF Secretariat team for their support, enabling him to continue contributing to the sport`s development at all levels.
A notable addition to the leadership team is Juraj Mokrý, an internationally acclaimed and highly accomplished referee, who was elected as the Vice-President of the Slovak Volleyball Federation.
