Khabib Nurmagomedov aims to broaden the reach of the distinct and demanding training methodology associated with his late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, by expanding gym locations. Abdulmanap was a highly respected coach in Dagestan, instrumental in the early success of champions like Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov.
Khabib intends to bring this unique training philosophy and lifestyle to more places, a goal confirmed by his teammate. Undefeated PFL featherweight contender Movlid Khaybulaev, who is participating in this year`s World Tournament and faces Taekyun Kim in an upcoming fight, is assisting in this initiative.
Khabib Nurmagomedov Plans Widespread Gym Expansion to Preserve Father`s Legacy
Following his retirement in 2020 after his father`s death, Khabib Nurmagomedov transitioned into a coaching role. He has successfully cornered numerous fighters in major promotions like UFC, PFL, and Bellator.
Now, he plans to expand his father`s influence further by opening new branches of their gym, replicating its unique training regimen.
Khaybulaev elaborated on these plans ahead of his Nashville bout: “This is all about expansion and safeguarding our heritage; we are actively branching out. We have many new talents emerging.”
“While I work with some, Khabib oversees everyone,” Khaybulaev continued. “If we maintain this energy and dedication, our reach will continue to grow significantly.”
“Khabib is ensuring we scout new talent, and we are preparing to open new gym locations. The objective is to establish an even greater legacy and perpetuate this cycle.”
