UFC commentator Joe Rogan, known for his often controversial opinions, has once again stirred debate by suggesting a particular strike in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) should be legalized.
Rogan`s extensive background in martial arts, including a past in competitive fighting before a career-altering moment, has made him a respected voice in the combat sports world. He became a prominent figure as a UFC commentator during the sport`s early growth.
Throughout his career, Rogan has frequently made headlines due to his outspoken views on various aspects of MMA, ranging from rule changes to weight-cutting practices.

Joe Rogan Proposes Legalizing Strikes to the Back of the Head
Adding to his list of contentious statements, Joe Rogan has now questioned the legality of strikes to the back of the head in MMA.
Recently, the UFC approved downward elbows as legal strikes, a change long advocated for, especially after its impact on a past Jon Jones fight.
Following this rule change, Rogan now argues for the legalization of strikes to the back of the head, despite their inherent dangers.
In a podcast episode featuring Jorge Masvidal, Rogan, 57, expressed his confusion over the illegality of these strikes.
“I`m not even sure we should prohibit hitting people in the back of the head; it doesn`t make sense to me, and I think it should be legal,” Rogan stated controversially.
He elaborated, “If you consult a neuroscientist, they’ll tell you the back of the head is particularly vulnerable… But isn`t the temple also? Aren`t the eyes? Everywhere is vulnerable.”
Michael Chandler`s Back-of-Head Strikes Controversy
Lightweight fighter Michael Chandler might welcome this potential rule change. He faced criticism during his fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 when he appeared to land multiple strikes to the back of Oliveira`s head while attempting a finish.
Rogan`s suggestion is the latest in a series of unconventional ideas he has proposed for MMA, including fights without gloves, resuming rounds in the same position, and allowing headbutts.
