Jay-Jay Wilson’s Lamborghini Dream with PFL Prize Money

MMA News

PFL fighter Jay-Jay Wilson is not planning to invest his $500,000 tournament winnings; instead, he has his sights set on a Lamborghini.

The fighter with a 10-1 record is preparing to face UFC veteran Mads Burnell in the opening round of the lightweight world tournament on April 18. He is just three fights away from securing a significant payout.

Unlike many fighters who prioritize reinvesting their earnings, the 27-year-old Wilson intends to enjoy his winnings and has a luxury purchase in mind.

However, “The Maori Kid” must first overcome a formidable challenge in Burnell, considered one of the toughest competitors in the PFL. The Danish fighter is known for his well-rounded skills, excelling in both striking and grappling.

Jay-Jay Wilson Promises to Buy a Lamborghini with PFL Winnings

After a period away from competition to clear his name in a USADA case, Jay-Jay Wilson is immediately entering the high-stakes PFL tournament. If he emerges victorious, he would likely need to face his former rival Gadzhi Rabadanov again and compete three times within five months.

The reward for winning the tournament is not only a championship belt and a chance to compete against Usman Nurmagomedov but also a substantial $500,000 cash prize. Unlike some fighters who prefer to save and invest their winnings, Wilson has immediate spending plans.

“I’ve been talking about getting a Lambo,” he mentioned in an exclusive interview. “But I’m not sure. Maybe I’ll get a Harley Davidson motorbike instead. Actually, a Lambo sounds pretty good.”

“Every time I mention it to someone, they tell me I’m crazy and shouldn’t waste all my money on a Lamborghini. But I think, it’s a Lambo, you know? I’ll just win another tournament and buy a house with that money!”

“I want to be able to respond to people talking trash by asking, ‘Hey, what color is your Lamborghini cup holder?’ and then just walk away. Oh, you don’t have one? Okay, then I walk away.”

Jay-Jay Wilson Details What to Expect in Mads Burnell Fight

Wilson’s immediate focus is on overcoming Mads Burnell, a strong and versatile fighter from New Zealand. Burnell, who trains at Xtreme Couture with fighters like Sean Strickland, is a challenging opponent to predict due to his proficiency in all aspects of MMA.

“I think if he’s smart, he’ll want to keep the fight standing. He might attempt a takedown occasionally, but if he`s wise, he won`t rely on wrestling too much. I’ve been competing in high-level jiu-jitsu for most of my career.

“My background is in jiu-jitsu, and I’ve competed at a high level. I could reach the podium at world championships as a black belt. I’ve submitted black belt world champions in tournaments. People talk about Mads’ jiu-jitsu, but I haven’t seen him compete at the top level in prestigious tournaments like ADCC or the world championships.

“Within jiu-jitsu, I have great confidence. I believe I have the best jiu-jitsu in the division, across all organizations. I don’t think anyone in the division has the grappling skills that I possess.”
