The British number one tennis player admits he finds it hard to live up to the ‘Big D’ nickname given by fans.

In an old interview from 2023, when the ‘Big D’ nickname was first mentioned to him, he responded: “Big D! It’s a shame because I don’t have one. Sorry!”

Draper has often received positive comments about his name, which sounds like it could belong to a James Bond character.

He mentioned, “People often say, ‘Oh, I like your name Jack Draper.’ Many people from other countries also tell me, ‘I love your name, it’s amazing.’”

Draper recently won his first major ATP Masters 1000 title with a strong win against Holger Rune at Indian Wells.

After his quick victory over Rune, he said, “It feels amazing to win here.”

“I’ve been watching this tournament since I was young, seeing all the champions play on this court. It really means a lot to me to become a champion here.”

“This is definitely a big moment for me. Getting into the top 10 and winning my first Masters title boosts my self-belief and confidence.”

“I came into today knowing it was a final.”

“Honestly, I felt a bit nervous before playing, but once I was on the court, I felt great. I felt in control and knew exactly what I needed to do.”
