Indy 500 2025: Dates, Schedule, Weather, and UK Viewing Information

F1 News

The highly anticipated Indy 500 is upon us, marking a key event in the motorsport calendar. Fans in the UK and Ireland can catch all the live action on Sky Sports F1 over the upcoming two weeks.

Widely recognized as `the greatest spectacle in racing,` the event features a grid of 33 drivers competing across 200 laps of the famous 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. This challenging race is known for its high speeds and intensity, which even some F1 drivers find daunting.

Reigning champion Josef Newgarden aims to make history by becoming the first driver to achieve three consecutive Indy 500 victories.

The field also includes several past champions: Helio Castroneves, Alexander Rossi, Takuma Sato, Will Power, and Marcus Ericsson.

Despite the presence of former winners, Spanish driver Alex Palou leads the 2025 IndyCar championship standings, having secured wins in four of the first five races in what is typically a very competitive series.

Every session of the Indy 500 fortnight, including comprehensive live coverage of the main race, is available to watch on Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports Mix. The main race is scheduled for Sunday, May 25.
