Following his impressive mixed martial arts debut, former World`s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has caught the attention of a former UFC veteran who is now eager for a fight.
Hall made a successful professional MMA debut at KSW 105 last month, securing a swift 30-second victory by beating down fellow strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski. The 2017 World`s Strongest Man winner is reportedly already in negotiations for his next MMA appearance in an undisclosed promotion.
Having passed his initial MMA test, Hall is now on the radar of several potential opponents. One such fighter is a former UFC veteran who recently earned a spectacular knockout victory over Tyrone Spong at Karate Combat 54 last weekend. This veteran, who has found considerable success since leaving the UFC, has now publicly targeted Hall for a future matchup in Karate Combat.
The fighter challenging Hall is Sam Alvey, a double champion in Karate Combat. During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Alvey directly called out Hall for a showdown.
“I’m going to kick your a–, respectfully, so sign the contract and let’s do it!” Alvey declared. He added that Karate Combat is enthusiastic about the potential fight and is working to make it happen. “We’re reaching out to him, going to do everything we can. Eddie Hall, quick ducking me! Quit running, son!” Alvey urged.
Alvey holds an undefeated record in Karate Combat, highlighted by his recent knockout win against Spong. He previously claimed the promotion`s inaugural heavyweight championship by defeating Ross Levine via unanimous decision and later finished Antonio Arroyo in their rematch.
As of the time of this report, Hall has not publicly responded to Alvey’s callouts. He is reportedly engaged in active discussions for his return to MMA against an opponent that has not yet been announced.
While Hall`s previous callout towards Francis Ngannou is unlikely to lead to a fight, a clash with Alvey in Karate Combat presents a compelling and potentially realistic option for both fighters. Such a high-profile matchup could generate significant buzz and add a must-watch event to Karate Combat`s schedule as the promotion continues to build momentum.
Meanwhile, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Hall`s opponent at KSW 105, addressed accusations that he tapped out during their fight. Pudzianowski quickly refuted these claims after KSW 105 and even hinted at the possibility of a rematch with Hall in the future.
Despite the swift defeat, Pudzianowski reportedly received a substantial payday for the 30-second bout. The former strongman is currently facing a three-fight losing streak in the KSW cage after previously enjoying a five-fight winning run.
With Alvey`s recent success in Karate Combat following his UFC tenure and Hall`s promising MMA debut, a collision course between the two fighters appears possible. It wouldn`t be surprising if Hall takes Alvey`s challenge into consideration soon, demonstrating the impactful careers former UFC fighters can carve out in other combat sports ventures.
