FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Schedule, Teams, and Key Matches

Football News

This year, the summer of soccer is set to look different with the arrival of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. This expanded edition of the competition will feature 32 teams from across the globe competing for a significant prize pool totaling $1 billion.

The revamped tournament will host numerous high-profile clubs, including UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain and Argentine giants Boca Juniors, all aiming for a deep run. European teams form the largest contingent with 12 participants, while South America provides six. Asia and Africa each have four representatives. North America contributes five teams, three of which are from MLS. Oceania secures one spot, filled by the competition`s only amateur side, Auckland City.

While the core objectives are similar, the stakes vary for each team. Underdogs like Lionel Messi`s Inter Miami and Simone Inzaghi`s Al-Hilal hope to make an impact in a competition often predicted to be dominated by European powerhouses. Meanwhile, major European clubs crossing the Atlantic, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Inzaghi`s former team Inter Milan (who finished their domestic and continental seasons without trophies), are looking to secure this final piece of silverware before the season concludes.

As the tournament action begins, here is a look at the schedule and early results from the Club World Cup:
