Eddie Hall Triumphs Over Mariusz Pudzianowski with Rapid Knockout in MMA Debut

MMA News

Eddie Hall, the 2017 World`s Strongest Man, made a stunning entry into mixed martial arts by defeating five-time World`s Strongest Man winner Mariusz Pudzianowski. The highly anticipated bout at KSW 105 in Gliwce, Poland, ended dramatically fast, with Hall securing a knockout victory in approximately 30 seconds. Pudzianowski, despite having considerably more experience in the cage, was returning to action after a nearly two-year hiatus and recently turned 48.

Hall, who weighed significantly more than his opponent (67lb heavier), showcased the impact of his size and power early in the fight. He landed a powerful strike that immediately put Pudzianowski off balance. Following this, Hall took his opponent to the ground and finished the fight with a series of punches.

Hall Found the Fight “Easier Than Expected”

Engaging in the center of the cage from the opening bell played directly into Hall`s strategy. His powerful early punch proved decisive. After the rapid victory, Hall was asked by Polish media if the fight felt easier than he anticipated.

“Of course,” he responded. “I expected it to go eight minutes. I’ve done so much work on the ground wrestling on the floor, kicking, so I was expecting a lot more out of it. But don’t get me wrong I am super happy to take that win. The 30 seconds of madness? I’m happy with that and I’ll take that.” Hall attributed the swift finish to his immense power, stating, “I have got the hardest recorded punch on the planet and if that lands on your face, I don’t know who you are but you’re going down.”

Rematch on the Table, With a Twist

Despite the relatively easy win, Hall expressed interest in facing Pudzianowski again. The matchup between the two strongman legends garnered massive global attention. However, Hall proposed a significant rule change for a potential rematch: reducing the rounds to two minutes instead of four. Given his substantial size (over 330lb), Hall believes shorter rounds would lead to a more exciting contest for both competitors.

“Maybe Mariusz will do the rematch with two minutes rounds,” he suggested. Hall clarified his intentions in MMA, stating, “I’ve got no aspirations to be number one in KSW. That’s just not for me. I want to come and have fun. I want to fight my heroes. I want to fight the freaks of the world.”
