Former World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall, achieved a spectacular victory against five-time champion Mariusz Pudzianowski just seconds into his mixed martial arts debut in Poland tonight.
Despite a significant 67lb weight advantage for the British strongman at yesterday`s weigh-in, Hall was widely expected to face a challenge due to Pudzianowski`s extensive fighting experience. However, Hall demonstrated immense power and rapid execution, securing a quick win at KSW 105 held in Poland.
The long-anticipated clash between the two strongman titans, weighing a combined 600lb, finally took place tonight. Following this emphatic win, Hall seems eager to pursue more significant challenges as he continues his transition into the MMA world.
Hall Destroys Pudzianowski in Shocking MMA Debut
Eddie Hall needed a mere 28 seconds to finish the seasoned KSW heavyweight and five-time World`s Strongest Man winner, Mariusz Pudzianowski, in Poland. The 2017 World`s Strongest Man landed powerful blows early in the fight, resulting in a quick stoppage after hurting his opponent.
While the technical proficiency of the massive super-heavyweight Hall may still be developing, his ability to deliver explosive power in short bursts was clearly evident. He quickly disrupted his opponent`s balance, causing him to stumble, and appeared to inflict critical damage with his initial strikes.
Hall is known for achieving a higher score than even notable strikers like Alex Pereira and Francis Ngannou on the UFC Performance Institute’s punching power machine. Pudzianowski felt this power immediately, struggling to recover and overcome the substantial size difference.
When Pudzianowski attempted a takedown, Hall easily shrugged him off, proceeding to finish the fight on the ground. Although the Pole protested alleged shots to the back of the head, the referee`s stoppage, coming in under 30 seconds, was considered fair and justified.
Hall`s only prior experience in a cage environment was an exhibition `Freak Fight` against the much lighter Neffati twins, both featherweights, whose combined weight was less than his. He notably knocked out both brothers simultaneously in that unique bout.
Given Pudzianowski`s decades of experience and numerous fights, he was seen as a significantly tougher challenge for Hall`s official professional cage debut.
Eddie Hall`s Massive Weight Advantage: 67 Pounds Heavier Than Pudzianowski
Hall chose to maintain his considerable size, weighing in at a staggering 151.3 kg (334 lb), making him the heaviest opponent Pudzianowski has faced in his career to date. In contrast, the Polish star weighed in at 267 lb, essentially the lower limit for a super-heavyweight.
During his time as a strongman competitor, Pudzianowski would often weigh up to 320lb to support his immense lifting goals. However, upon transitioning to MMA, he underwent a significant weight cut, a path also followed by Hall.
