EA Sports celebrates the top performers of the 2024-2025 NHL season with the Team of the Season (TOTS) program in NHL 25. Unlike the Team of the Year (TOTY), which considers achievements over a calendar year, TOTS focuses on the current season`s performances. The initial TOTS reveal features six star players:
- Connor Hellebuyck, G, Winnipeg Jets (94 OVR)
- Cale Makar, D, Colorado Avalanche (94 OVR)
- Zach Werenski, D, Columbus Blue Jackets (94 OVR)
- Nikita Kucherov, RW, Tampa Bay Lightning (94 OVR)
- Leon Draisaitl, C, Edmonton Oilers (94 OVR)
- Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche (94 OVR)
MacKinnon, Kucherov, and Draisaitl are currently leading the NHL in scoring. Makar is the top-scoring defenseman, and Werenski ranks second among defensemen. Hellebuyck leads NHL goalies in wins, save percentage, and goals-against average. MacKinnon, Kucherov, Makar, and Hellebuyck were also previously named to TOTY.
Additionally, EA Sports congratulated Alex Ovechkin on his record-breaking 895th goal, noting that players have scored approximately 216 million goals with Ovechkin in NHL games from 2007 to 2025.
