Dillon Danis versus Mike Perry in MMA? This is news to Danis.
Last weekend, Dillon Danis, a grappling star, was supposed to fight KSI in a boxing match in England. KSI postponed the fight due to illness. This was Danis`s second attempt to fight KSI, as Danis had previously withdrawn from a scheduled fight in 2023.
This is where Mike Perry, a former UFC fighter and current BKFC fighter, comes into the picture.
Perry has been interested in fighting Dillon Danis for a while, even confronting him before Danis boxed and lost to Jake Paul last summer.
Danis is currently scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson in MMA on May 25th. According to Perry, Misfits Boxing considered finding Danis a replacement opponent after KSI`s withdrawal.
Mike Perry Says He Was Offered MMA Fight with Dillon Danis
On Monday, Perry said on The Ariel Helwani Show that he received a last-minute offer to fight Danis in MMA under the Misfits Boxing banner.
“KSI is out,” Perry stated.
“Dillon Danis wants to fight MMA. I’m saying yes, but we need to see… If they want to make the fight happen, let’s do it.”
Perry mentioned the fight could happen as early as April, before Danis is scheduled to fight Ferguson.
“I’ll just stop his takedowns. He’ll have to pull guard, and I’ll use ground and pound,” Perry added.
Dillon Danis Responds
Dillon Danis, who is training for his MMA fight with Tony Ferguson, responded to Perry’s comments about a potential fight between them.
“Is it weird that I never heard anything about this,” Danis wrote about Perry’s offer on social media.
Danis, who became a free agent after leaving Bellator MMA in October 2023, claims he knows nothing about a potential MMA fight with Mike Perry under Misfits Boxing.
Perry, 33, is a UFC veteran with 15 fights and has BKFC wins against Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Michael ‘Venom’ Page. Perry has not fought in MMA since 2021.
