Dillon Danis Eyes New Fight Following KSI and Tony Ferguson Scrapped Bouts

MMA News

The controversial fighter was hoping to revitalize his career with a strong start in 2025.

Dillon Danis had plans to face both KSI and Tony Ferguson in quick succession, aiming to silence critics who accused him of not living up to his trash talk.

Victories in either of these matchups would have significantly improved his reputation after a lackluster showing against Logan Paul in 2023.

Unfortunately, KSI withdrew from their scheduled Misfits Boxing fight on March 29 due to illness, following recent retirement claims.

Adding to his misfortune, Danis`s GFL debut against Tony Ferguson was also cancelled after the promotion scrapped its initial two events on May 24 and 25.

Misfits Boxing`s Mams Taylor Assures Dillon Danis of Future Fight Booking

Dillon Danis hasn`t helped his public image amidst ongoing criticism, but these two booked fights presented significant opportunities for him to redeem himself.

A win against KSI could have compensated for his loss to Logan Paul and paved the way for bigger opportunities in boxing. Meanwhile, an MMA return against a legend like Tony Ferguson was clearly the fight Danis was personally more enthusiastic about.

Both fights have now been cancelled due to circumstances beyond his control, even as Misfits reportedly tried to find him a last-minute replacement opponent.

Danis expressed his frustration in a social media post, stating his efforts to change public perception were thwarted by these cancellations.

“Honestly, I`m extremely frustrated. I wanted to be as active as possible in 2025 for myself and my supporters. First, KSI cancelled, then said he wouldn`t be ready to reschedule. We couldn`t secure a replacement. I agreed to fight anyone. And now the Tony Ferguson fight is also off. I understand the criticism.

“I`m aware of the narrative that I avoid fights. I don`t want that to be my legacy, and I`ve been doing everything possible to change it. I just want to prove my claims and show I`m the best. Sorry to everyone.”

In response to Danis`s post, Mams Taylor, promoter for Misfits Boxing, offered encouragement, suggesting a fight is on the horizon for him.

“You`ve definitely had some bad luck. You`ll be fighting soon, Danis.”

Who Might Dillon Danis Face Next?

With the Global Fight League`s future uncertain, it seems unlikely any promotion will be able to afford both Dillon Danis and a worthy opponent, unless PFL steps in.

Misfits has already offered an opportunity, and while boxing may not be Danis`s strongest discipline, it might be his best route to stay active.

Big names like Darren Till and Mike Perry have been mentioned as potential opponents for Danis recently. With KSI and the Paul brothers unavailable, they could be his best available options, despite being challenging matchups.

While Danis hasn`t garnered much public sympathy, it`s undeniable that his career has been significantly affected by recent unfortunate events.
