Diego Brandao, Conor McGregor KO Victim, Defends Title

Former UFC fighter Diego Brandao is showing that a career can thrive even after being released by the promotion.

Known as `Ceara`, he was a winner of The Ultimate Fighter and competed in ten bouts within the Octagon during his prime.

A notable moment came in July 2014 when Brandao headlined a significant UFC event in Dublin, Ireland, against Conor McGregor.

McGregor, then `Notorious`, secured a first-round knockout victory in that fight, later achieving two-division champion status in the UFC, while Brandao was released by the promotion after three more fights.

Initially, the UFC`s decision seemed justified as Brandao subsequently endured a six-fight losing streak.

However, the 38-year-old veteran has dramatically reversed his fortunes, winning six of his last eight contests since ending that losing streak.

He recently captured the Tuff-N-Uff featherweight title in February with a spectacular spinning kick, a potential Knockout of the Year candidate.

This impressive win broke the nine-fight winning streak of promising prospect Jamie Siraj.

Brandao continued this impressive form on Sunday evening, successfully defending his belt against Canaan Kawaihae, who held a 10-2 record.

Despite being a massive underdog, Brandao secured a fourth-round TKO victory at Tuff-N-Uff 145.

This resurgence and title defense are particularly remarkable given that his career appeared to be winding down just a few years prior.

Sean Strickland`s Viral Moment

In other news from Tuff-N-Uff 145, former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland garnered viral attention with an unexpected appearance.

Strickland entered the cage and physically confronted a fighter following his teammate`s loss.

The incident occurred after Luis Hernandez defeated Miles Hunsinger via submission and then celebrated with an inappropriate gesture towards Hunsinger`s corner, which included Strickland.

Strickland, along with fellow UFC fighter Chris Curtis, rushed into the cage to confront Hernandez.

Punches were exchanged in the ensuing scuffle, but it was quickly defused before serious injury occurred.

Strickland could potentially face disciplinary action, such as a ban or fine, from the Nevada State Athletic Commission overseeing the event.
